About Sakam Savana
Our Organization
Our Vision is to reforest to restore the earth to foster a world of sustained nature-based livelihoods by planting commercial forest trees alongside diverse flora and fauna species. Our objective is to reforest to improve the environment and create jobs. We achieve this by actively growing commercial trees and facilitating agroforestry practices in degraded forest lands by engaging small holder farmers in our beneficiary communities. Our primary plantation is based in the Afram Headwaters Forest Reserve in the semi-deciduous ecological zone of Ghana with sandy loam soil on the watershed. There are about 18 compartments in our name totaling over 3000Ha in area. specific objectives are to;
-
Develop sustainable forest plantations – producing superior quality poles
-
Establish all 3,000 Ha of mainly teak, cedrela and gmelina plantations
-
Develop and maintain at least 15% indigenous species for bio-diversity conservation purposes
-
Provide jobs for the forest fringe communities for sustainable livelihoods and boost economic development
-
Contribute to emission reduction with an interest in accessing the carbon market
-
Sustainably process lumber of superior quality and timber for local and foreign markets.

Our Mission
Our Mission is to reforest to restore the ecosystem and contribute to local economic development of forest fringe communities.
We have set for ourselves a medium term goal of planting 3million trees by 2028.
In so doing, we strategically stride towards the vision of building the climate resilience of our beneficiary communities.
